 Swimming is one of the most recommended sport in the Canary Islands, not only for its healthfuls funtions but also because as we are surounded by water, it is very helpful.
  
    Advantages of swimming:

  1.  Your quality of life improves. Swimming allows you to delay the aging stage; your motor capacity increases, as does your memory, as it requires greater concentration and coordination.
    1.  It makes you more alert, more balanced and has a more efficient and faster complex reaction time; wounds take less time to heal.
    2.  You burn more calories. In water your muscles work five to six times more than on land.
    3.  Swimming increases your muscle mass and tones it; it lengthens your muscles and improves your silhouette. One hour of this exercise allows you to burn up to 600 calories.
    4.  Your organism acquires greater mobility and elasticity. Swimming allows you to exercise your joints, increasing their flexibility and range of motion.
    5.  It favours the activity of the cardiorespiratory system.
    6.  It increases the flexibility of the spine and eliminates pain.
    7.  Improves your circulation. When you swim, you massage every organ in your body, your blood becomes active and you feel better.
    8.  Swimming relaxes not only the muscles of the body, but also your mind, so your stress decreases considerably.
